Signposts02 Pages…

What does everyone think of having Signpost02 pages for certain ministries?

I was thinking, to help keep our focus on the original goals of Signposts02, we could simply make pages wher people can post up information on certain ministries.

This means we will have a Hillsong Page, C3 Page, Fire It Up Page, Catch the Fire Page, etc. If not that we can have a Danny Nalliah Page, Phil Pringle Page, Matt Ford Page, etc.

Anyone can comment and post their findings on these movements. People can post up quotes of theirs and provide links to interesting articles to see what they are up to. I think this is what the old Signposts02 used to do. Or do you like the way everything is set up?

I am hoping we can try to focus on the emergent movement and push these other movements to the side. (Such as the pentecostal, evangelical and charismatic movements and their churches.) This means we can all update each other what is being said and what is changing through single church movements, and what is happening globally as the church tries changing it’s spots. As the global church, we are all in this together.

I am not sure. You would have to be careful that they didn’t turn into ministry hate pages or become exceedingly long and impossible to read. A topic that lives for a few days or weeks is different from a page that is more or less there permanently as a page for anything on that topic. If they are long enough, no one will bother to read the threads. Also, if you ever find you have to take down some material (if it went a bit far), deleting a thread doesn’t have as much impact as if you had to delete a page that you’ve built up over time.

Maybe we could try introducing Categories instead. I think this can be done very easily, in the same way as using tags. So have a category for any new posts, including different ones for ‘Hillsong’, ‘C3′ etc. That way, people can look up all the posts in a category, and they wouldn’t necessarily become too long to read.

Also, this is very little work. Just post as normal but add a category to the post.

It is much easier to digest a topic that is broken up into pieces (several threads on different aspects, including good things as well as the not so good things), than a long thread with all kinds of coverage but no headings or titles to help people navigate.

I will be simply quoting Phil Pringle, (as an example), in context. I will only put the churches name and then place a heading for the person saying them, then roll out there quotes. I will post up links to sermons that are posted in posts on this thread.

I will look at ‘categories’ RP. Thanks!

    Hi all,

Although I know a few classic scriptures I’m not well versed in most of them. What I find hard to follow and digest are the long winded posts and those that include mutli scripture quotes. It’s possible that I’m viewing Signposts from the wrong perspective.

However if these articles are trying to capture main stream attention,v which I believe they are, it maybe useful to try and keep them shortish with as little convoluted information as possible.

Otherwise I feel these article will alienate main stream readers who are probably not savvy with scriptures.

Some people don’t even use the scroll bar. So any message that is really aimed at passer’s by would be best kept to words that fit on a single screen.

But we also do a lot of posts for our regulars to comment on.

    My punctuation is embarrassing sometimes.

RP that is not having a go at your punctuation, given my typo history

I just ran the horse video again it shows as yellow on my comp. screen, so that’s why I had a hard time figuring the whole scenario, at first. It looks like a coincidental reflection of the flickering flames at the top, background area. What I found is more coincidental is that later Hilary Clinton is pictured dressed in a pinkish scarlet jacket. Is there a subtle revelation here by any chance here to do with her future?Only time will tell I suppose!

  11. Lionfish says:

Why cant posts be tagged with these churches?

  12. Gregthexplorer says:

Na, we let idiots with vile mouths and severely depleted intelligence post here as well…gives us someone to laugh about. You won’t get deleted

Does anybody have in there heart that they should be investing in a Youth Ministry? My wife and I need funding for a very very effective, Holy Spirit empowered Skateboard Ministry?

  14. Jack says:

So you can’t even afford a skateboard on your own? Because that’s all you might need in order to start a skateboard ministry. Just go to the local skate park and talk to the kids – that seems like a good start to a ministry like this, not pleading for funding.

  15. John COWARD says:

What a bunch of media manipulating cowards you have here at Signposts. Too afraid to use the bible to correct and rebuke, instead removing dissenting comments… Shameful.

  16. Bones says:

    Back again, hey.

Now if you wanted a discussion about free speech then maybe you would have been a bit more diplomatic about why people should be banned from a Christian blog.

I see you just want to stir and vilify instead….

    Goodbye.

  17. Steve says:

Dissent is when a person holds an opinion at variance with those previously, commonly or officially expressed.

This is at complete variance to merely slinging vile insults at the general commentary that, in fact, holds a variety of views.

Hence the other charge from the COWARD that there was scant agreement amongst commenters, which, in turn, was erroneously claimed to be a bad Christian witness.

Now it seems that COWARD is self-dissenting with his own contrary views of the same target group.

In other words, COWARD doesn’t have a clue what he is on about.

No dissenting comments have been removed, only the wearisome prattling of a demented troll.

The skatepark is like a foreign
country, in need of God like China is,
or Australia, or Russia, or Egypt…. That’s my heart. The problem is
this generation seems to create teenaged

satanists, and atheists. Skateboarding as a whole isn’t doing anything
to counteract, it’s time skaters hear the

gospel. I don’t believe they will listen to anyone outside of
skateboarding, that’s not how they work.
My wife and I believe all of the Bible, which is why we are praying for people,
seeing healings and demons cast out, we’ve seen 20 healings, 5 kids
with demons cast out, (probably more, everyone is demonized in these
times!) Atleast 20 kids have felt the power of God, and accepted
Christ!!!! We had a steady flow of Bibles for a while as well. My wife
had a dream, God told her “go to the skatepark every thursday, I will
clear a path” (the skatepark will be dry) “kids will ask you to draw
“Carpenter Skates” on their griptape, funding will come for the
Ministry, you will sit on the second level of the bleachers and preach
about the end times…” She also saw in the dream healings and
miracles taking place there. I got on Facebook and announced the
Prophecy “Every Thursday will be dry at the Skatepark, and we will be
there preaching the end times, and Jesus will be doing miracles.” Well
so far all of that dream has came true, FORE SEVEN WEEKS STRAIGHT, the
skatepark was sunny and dry, and minds we’re blown. I ordered my first
bundle of skateboard decks, complete with a drawing of Jesus, and a
verse for the graphic (viewable in the attachments.) We are praying
for further funding, my wife just got a job, and I am still looking, I
believe God wants us to be fully committed to a ministry that sustains
itself, we can do much more if we can be emmersed in the ministry, and
not working all week. There are hundreds of skateparks just in our
State, God has revealed to us this WILL reach many more people than
just our local skatepark. Kids don’t seem to leave they’re home
skateparks, we have to go to them! Please let me know if there is
anything you can do to help. Thank you. It costs us $360 to make 20
black and white skateboards, $1000 to make 30 full color skatebards.
We need a van to move the team from park to park. We need to make
T-shirts and stickers. We need to get Bibles.
