Kevin Rudd believes in an Intelligent Designer

Say one for me, Kevin!

Will Kevin Rudd’s proposed sweeping changes to the education system include courses on Intelligent Design now that we know he believes in the Designer?

From ninemsn, an interesting interview with the Australian PM, Kevin Rudd:

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says the ordered nature of the cosmos convinces him of the existence of God.

Mr Rudd, a regularly practising Anglican, was on Friday asked on Fairfax Radio in Brisbane to give his single biggest argument in favour of the existence of God.

“As you know I’m a believer and I’ve never pretended not to be and I respect those who have no religious belief – it’s a free country,” Mr Rudd said.

“For me, it’s ultimately the order of the cosmos or what I describe as the creation.

“You can’t simply have, in my own judgment, creation simply being a random event because it is so inherently ordered, and the fact that the natural environment is being ordered where it can properly coexist over time.

“If you were simply reducing that to mathematically probabilities I’ve got to say it probably wouldn’t have happened.

“So I think there is an intelligent mind at work.”

Mr Rudd said in his entire political life he had never been asked in a media interview to prove the existence of God.

“You … have a world first,” Mr Rudd said.

  1. take a step back and lets wonder at the Times my friends,

Our new Prime-Minister presides over a ‘Labour’ party, ie committed to caring more for the interests of working-people than the selfishness of individuals– [gasp, you cant say that!]

Similarly, Obama is emerging [Like Roosevelt] as the President over a Depressed and ‘Failing’ USA- [I wonder with a sad smile, at the public proclamation made by my SP(Senior Pastor-heh,) that “the United States is the ONLY Super-Power!”- 5 years ago or so….and watching the USA falling-over now….-hah!]

    Whats my point?

Okay, these kind of leaders emerge now, over a Recession–please review with curiosity, the Japanese Recession, and how theyve been coping- what, has it been 18-20 years now?

It is good that the Australian PM speaks Mandarin & is loved by the Chinese, and that he believes in an Intelligent Creator–I feel this bodes well for An Australia that is searching for greater harmony , even though we’ll be feeling the fallout from a pretty greedy, self-centred & dysfunctional past for some time to come; we could do with more redistribution of land, for instance, and radical conservation & energy-efficiency; all in the wind, now[no pun intended].

I used to say; “Depression comes before War”[not necessarily true!], so cast your minds back to the reconstructions following the First World War & Depression that ran in parallel with the rise of the the radical ideologies; people ‘found themselves’ ; eg the quality of the item became more important than its cost–the world sorted out itself over the horrors of WW2, and the British Empire went bankrupt as its colonies decided on independence,–then with the new-found materialism of the 50s & 60s, people really began to develop Consumer-turnover; and designed-obsolescence became the thing.

The 70s signalled Global Oil-crisis & recession and STAR WARS appeared at the very height of the ‘shooting’ Cold War. Israel stood strong and endured amongst incredible hostility from its neighbours–People in the West peaked at their wealth in the 80s, became a bit more sensible in he 90s, and here we are , post 911 snapping into Globalisation, the materialistic rise of India & China , and what looks like the Recession of the USA late in this decade, with us still tied to their apron-strings under Howard.

“So I think there is an intelligent mind at work”?- hmm, the world is doing its best to keep its little realities tgether, and God appears to be radically sweeping peoples landscapes into new & serious shapes and considerations;” we have a whole World to develop here my friends!”

[‘Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also’ underlines the considerations above]
