“I saw a man firing randomly with a weapon at people on the streets and many were falling dead. I was very disturbed and was crying. Then the scene changed and I saw fire everywhere with flames burning very high and uncontrollably. With this I awoke from my dream with the interpretation as the following words came to me in a flash from the Spirit of God, ‘My wrath is about to be released upon Australia, in particular Victoria, for approving the slaughter of the innocent children in the womb. Now, call on My people to repent and pray!'”
So the prophecy goes, claimed, by Danny Nalliah to point to the deadly bush fires in Victoria this last week.
The thing is, if this is God’s judgement for Victoria’s recent abortion laws, where was the gunman?
It is an almost certain fact that there will be bush fires somewhere in Australia. Entire departments and teams of volunteers and professionals are dedicated to the task of protecting lives and property in every State and Territory of Australia. Having a serious bush fire in Australia during bush fire season is practically inevitable.
Jesus told us that it rains on the just and the unjust, that natural disasters would be a sign of the times, not a sign of God’s judgement. There are many sound commentaries on this, particularly in light of Nalliah’s claims.
Could this be plain opportunism by Nalliah? To what end?
Whatever his motives, or understanding of scripture, his theology has the potential of further polarising Christians, particularly if we allow this kind of doctrine to become the darling of media resentment of the Church, because there are, amazingly, some who accept what the ‘prophet’ says, and even believe he is right, whilst on the other side, most Christians are horrified by this kind of judgmental theology.
The voices of sound teaching need to be loud and clear right now, and not allow wrong prophecy an ascendancy, especially if opportunists like the Westborough mob in US gain media attention. We should pray for Christian leaders everywhere to be strong in their condemnation of false prophecy.

The single most troubling idea in the ‘prophecy’ is of course the idea that all Australians are God’s people.
Since the state of Victoria has abortion laws, are all the people making use of them ‘God’s People’?
Of course not. Only the Jews are God’s chosen people. We gentile believers in Jesus have been grafted into God’s chosen people. Non-believers are not condemned in this way. The people of Ninevah were called to repent by Jonah, and they did. However, they were NOT God’s chosen people.
While I can accept human beings making this kind of mistake, it makes no sense to even imagine God getting this wrong, especially when He is supposedly speaking.
Therefore, this is a false prophecy. It fails on the most basic of biblical exegesis.

Well to interpret the dream – the gunman is Nalliah’s ‘Jesus’, FIRING his wrath at many in the streets.
I opened my mouth to say something about that ‘my people’ thing too, as I just read the book of Jonah last week. I read this in relation to Jesus talking about the sign of Jonah and one being greater than solomon. I got some fantastic revelation from these.
When I get prophetic Words, visions or revelations, I will always test them. It’s not an issue of faith, but it’s important to test the spirit’s and if what we receive is of God.
It would have been good for Nalliah to do the same.
In truth the gunman never appeared, negating the present fires as the fires in Nalliah’s dream.
You sure he even had a dream?
Groupsects suggests that part of the dream was to be interpreted as Nalliah shooting himself in the foot! Now that is funny! I’ll pay it!
I notice that Danny has put up a new post on his prophecy, defending his actions, which is unfortunate. It is also poor exegesis, which I mentioned as I added a comment, which I have little confidence getting past the moderator (I seem to have a few problems in this regard), but I’ll add it here for reference, in case it vanishes into the ether:
‘I stood with you and supported you when you were going through the courts. It was serious injustice.
I support any stand against abortion, and have no issue with you over the strength of your conviction in this. However, there are many many people, contrary to your claims, who are actively vocal about the killing of innocent children in wombs. Yours is not the only voice, as you are attempting to claim.
I was sceptical of your prophecy about John Howard, because we were in prayer also and did not receive the same message. Many other people prayed, and heard a different message. Is the Holy Spirit confused? We heard that there would be a change, and there was. Many people prayed and fasted for the election, and would have liked to see Mr Howard succeeded by Mr Costello, but it was not to be. However, you criticised the Body of Christ in Australia for failure, but it was your prophecy which failed.
Now you are attacking the Body of Christ again, and saying that good and godly ministers who find your doctrine wrong on the judgement of God through the fires in Victoria are to be counted amongst the wicked.
Yet your exegesis is flawed, and you have put scriptures together in much the same way cults do to prove a point. I could do the same to prove how wrong you are, but it would be fraudulent to do so, because we are supposed to rightly divide the Word of God, not use it as a defence for our own point of view, or to cover our own failure by putting blame on others.
You have a great many followers in this nation and beyond. You are in a position of responsibility. You have an opportunity to do the right thing, yet you have attacked people who have supported you in the past, and you have done so by incorrectly using scripture, when many people look to you to give sense to troubled times, but you add to the confusion as godly Pastors and ministers attempt to explain the fires in light of what Jesus has clearly said about these things, yet you teach the opposite.
It’s time to listen to other leaders, Brother Danny, not rebuke them.’
It should be noted that Danny relates that many church leaders have emailed him to air their disagreement with his course of action.
It would be true to say that the vast majority of church leaders are appalled by the lack of grasp of fundamental Christian doctrine displayed by CTFM in this instance. Very few would agree that the Victorian fires are a result of God lifting his conditional protection because of abortion legislation, which has been in place in most States and Territories in Australia for a number of years.
The majority of devout Christians do not support abortion on demand, and would like to see serious revision of existing laws, but we are not condemning secular Governments for making secular laws, which are secular errors of moral judgement.
Rather it is our purpose to change society through prayer, lifestyle evangelism, and by winning souls and making disciples, by preaching the gospel and seeing people saved, delivered and birthed into the Body of Christ, where they will live godly lives regardless of secular politics and law.
