Scripture Says It, The World Says It, But The Church Still Doesn’t Get It

He (Jesus) replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:

“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.

You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God) — then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”Mark 7:6-14

  1. Thanks CTruth.
If you don’t mind, I would love to do a post on your article ‘MISREPORTING OF CHURCH ATTENDANCE IN MONEY DRIVEN CHURCHES’.

Depending how many articles you write, I would also like to promote your site on the side of SP02 among the other sites and blogs I like to promote. Is this alright with you?

  2. Specks – sorry to post here but what has happened with the Kubala ministry “Believe TV” thing?
Has it died a cloak and dagger, mysterious death like the 10,000 by 2000 vision that Dr Dingle once endorsed???

  3. yeah 10,000 by 2000 was the thing being promoted for all it was worth when I was in the movement RP.
10,000 attendees at the C3OF campus by the year 2000.

Then… as we inched closer to 2000 it mysteriously vanished into the aether like a Sunday morning fog. Nothing was ever mentioned about it… It was like “Well that didn’t work out but we’re not going to publicly admit it to you… Nothing to see here people, please move on”

It is amazing how one minute it’s the “vision from God” and the next, it’s never spoken of again.

  4. Oh – that does make me laugh. It’s not surprising.

I guess back then the cliche, “So – how’s that working for you?” hadn’t become well used. Especially in relation to untouchable leaders.

No one wants to dwell on a ‘Vision’ that didn’t come to pass. I’m sure they’d dwell on it if it happened though, and launch off it to something even bigger.

I luckily missed the 10,000 by 2000 thing. My church in the 90’s despite being CCC, actually took on very few of the things going on at Brookvale/Oxford Falls. (Not sure if I can remember any in fact, though there was a pastoral relationship. It was very autonomous.)

Did you know that apparently, people are more likely to believe things that rhyme? I suspect Dr Pringle knows this. Might explain some of the snappy slogans.
